Abstract |
Background. International engineering is Russia is a relatively new and promising form of international business, including both advisory services aimed at reducing capital expenditures of enterprises, and developing innovations, conducting research, all stages of construction and re-equipment of production facilities. The goal of the study is to research features of the current condition of international engineering in Russia.
Materials and methods. The research tasks were completed by analyzing the Russian engineering companies rating, drawn up with the help of "2K" Engineering Company. The authors also used the most famous rating of Engineering News Record agency. The methodological basis included methods of comparative and statistical analysis allowing to identify the main problems of international engineering in Russia.
Results. Two segments of international engineering in Russia are singled out: foreign customers' projects related to the interest of foreign companies in Russian engineering resources, and projects of Russian customers, which are impossible to implement without attracting international engineering resources. Currently, the first segment is characterized by a decreasing number of foreign projects ordered in Russia, as any foreign project can be stopped or frozen under international sanctions.
For the second segment, the work highlights such complexities as the inability of Russian customers to play by the foreign engineering rules and the complex atmosphere of competition that Russian companies fall into.
Conclusions. Russian engineering companies need to bring the work technque in accordance with international work standards and then to take their place in the technological chain.
